Week 3

  1. What did you do this past week?

This past week I completed the HackerRank for Collatz. This week was pretty hectic because I did not understand the Data Mining assignment, so I spent all my time working on that rather than Collatz. I also taught a dance class this week, so there be lots and lots of stuff going on!

2. What’s in your way?

Recruiting season…

I was able to set up my environment pretty quickly for Collatz using VScode. Docker didn’t give me any trouble either! The only thing might just be the memory on my computer. She be runnin out of space :(

3. What will you do next week?

Next week, or rather Saturday and Sunday, I’ll be finishing up the workflow for Collatz. I assume projects will be introduced next week as well, so I’ll be looking for partners.

4. What was your experience of Collatz, the starter code, the makefile, its optimizations, and exceptions?

Since I had prior experience with OOP, the start-up was much easier! Surprisingly, I was able to pass all three tests my first try after implementing a meta cache. Also, exceptions are weird in Python. During the lecture, I was thinking about how C++ is just a better language… sometimes

5. What made you happy this week?

This week, I got to see my best friend who I hadn’t seen in over a year! We hadn’t talked for about 6 months because she was abroad in Costa Rica. Some amazzingg conversations went down that Monday.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is GParted. My Linux partition is running out of space, so I’m planning to use GParted to rearrange my disk space and give more memory from my Windows partition to my Linux partition!

CHEERS! I hope you smile today :)
